Summer Event: Cat Adoptions and Silent Auction

Did you know there are over 70,000 unowned community cats in Edmonton? They need your help!

Kirk Centre is proud to announce we are partnering with Community Cats Edmonton to host an adoption event and silent auction in support of both organizations. Come join us on August 27, 2022, from 12 pm - 4 pm, to meet some cute, adoptable kitties. Check out the Silent Auction (HERE) and Bake Sale, with items donated from local businesses, supporters, and volunteers. While you're here, drop off your recyclable bottles and cans - feel free to also bring cat care supplies to donate to CCE and non-perishable food and hygiene items to donate to our new Little Free Pantry! There will be kids' activities and building tours available. Follow along on our social media channels for updates about the event, volunteering opportunities, and more!

Founded in 2019, Community Cats Edmonton addresses the gap left behind when the City of Edmonton changed its Animal Care & Control Centre intake policy. With only about 100 cats being trapped, neutered, and returned (TNR) by the City of Edmonton, the problem is just getting bigger. CCE seeks to improve this situation by changing city officials' priorities and city policies. They also rescue, treat, foster, and adopt out cats that were once unowned community cats.

CCE is entirely run by volunteers, including their directors and fosters, and rely on donations and support from ordinary people. We hope you'll join us in raising funds to support both missions: to provide an open, safe, diverse, inclusive, and accessible facility, building community in Northwest Edmonton, and to improve the lives of the unowned, community cats and support the compassionate people caring for them in the City of Edmonton.
