Board members help guide the vision of Kirk Centre while supporting programs, partnerships, and the continued growth of our community hub.

The Kirk Centre Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for the non-profit and ensures there are sufficient resources to accomplish the Centre’s objectives and goals. It also sets the ethical, legal, and financial management policies, and selects and supports Kirk Centre’s Executive Director who is responsible for operational planning and delivery.

Board members commit to meeting once a month and reviewing any materials and documents as necessary to make the meetings efficient and fruitful. They also attend our Annual General Meeting in June and engage with other organizations to meet the needs of the communities surrounding Kirk Centre.


Benefits to becoming a board member include gaining non-profit experience, expanding your network, and building business relationships while affecting real change in your community.

Become a Member-at-Large

Are you passionate about community?
Do you want to join a unique non-profit organization in creating inclusive, safe, and accessible spaces for all in Dovercourt and its surrounding communities?

Become a member of Kirk Centre.

Members-at-Large share their thoughts and ideas for community programming and partnerships at Kirk Centre. They attend the Annual General Meeting in June, and receive updates about our work throughout the year, including announcements, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events.

Joining is free and easy, and as a Member-at-Large, you get to be on the ground level of a grass roots non-profit and help initiate programming and partnerships tailored to the communities' needs. You can build your network and business relationships. Best of all, you can help create real change for Dovercourt, Inglewood, Sherbrooke, Woodcroft, and their citizens.
